Shipwire Anywhere Story | B2C

Shipwire is an end-to-end order fulfillment and logistics company. With a global network of warehouses and advanced technology that make shipping affordable and stress-free.

Shipwire’s primary users were small to medium size brands using the platform and services, including warehouses. In some cases, we discovered a different type of B2C users that are only interested in using the platform for returns, order management, creating & printing labels, and not interested in using our warehouses and transportation. The platform wasn’t supporting the needs of our customers. Hence, we began with the discovery phase to understand the gaps and provide brands with flexible and scalable commerce & fulfillment solutions to let them achieve their full business potential - across channels and globally.

OUR GOAL: To provide brands with a flexible, scalable SaaS commerce & fulfillment platform to empower them to achieve their full business potential - across channels and globally. Supporting warehouse operations, offering vendors sales channel connectivity, inventory visibility, and order management capabilities.

Below project aimed to enable new and existing users to configure their package sizes on the platform easily. There are two scenarios for package configuration:

As a new user, you can configure your packaging by adding the package type and dimensions. This allows you to set up your preferred package sizes according to your needs.

Existing users may run out of stock in their warehouse for a specific package size. In such situations, they can use a different package size as an alternative. The system automatically selects the appropriate alternative package size for the order, considering the unavailability of the original package size.

These package configuration options give users flexibility and adaptability when packaging their orders effectively.

The ideal scenario for a seamless experience occurs when orders are smoothly routed to Shipwire, connected to the appropriate package size, and seamlessly processed. This typically applies to existing users who have configured packaging settings for their products.

On the other hand, the less optimal scenario arises when orders are sent to Shipwire but remain on hold. In such cases, the user must navigate to the order detail screen, access the edit orders page, manually force fulfillment, make any necessary packaging adjustments or edits, and finally process the order.

After a few iterations and talking to our customers, we developed a much better experience to support our new and existing customers.
